Oil Painters of America announces a call to artists for a juried art exhibition, October 11, 2024 – November 8, 2024 at The Centerpiece Gallery in Raleigh, NC. $11,500 in cash & merchandise. The Emerald Coast National (ECN) is a juried exhibition held annually at Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries, Northwest Florida State College in Niceville, FL. $1750 total in awards. Best in Show wins a cash award of $1000.00 and a solo exhibit curated by MKAC. This year’s ECN, September 5 – December 12, 2024, will be juried by accomplished professor and artist Sarah Knobel. The Gainesville Fine Arts Association (GFAA) invites submissions for its 4th National Biennial Juried Exhibition – Heat, August 28 – October 19, 2024 at the GFAA Gallery in Gainesville, FL. One $1000 Best In Show award, Four $500 Award of Excellence awards. Co-Curators: Skip Snow and Katy Lemle. The theme for this exhibition is informed and inspired by Jeff Goodell’s searing new book, The Heat Will Kill You First: Life and Death on a Scorched Planet. We are seeking artworks that relate to the first order threat and prime mover of all other impacts of our climate crisis – Heat. Participants can use any medium. The Koger Center for the Arts in Columbia, SC seeks entries for their annual artistic competition. One chosen artist will receive a $500 stipend, gallery space, and staff support resulting in a free public display in the Upstairs Gallery of the Koger Center. Artist must be over 18 years old and based in South Carolina. Submissions must be your own work, created in the past 2 years. Artists cannot submit any artwork that was previously submitted to The Project or when it was formerly known as the Koger Center’s 1593 Project. The Academy Center of the Arts in Lynchburg, VA announces a call to artists for the Academy Clay Festival, October 12, 2024. Best in Show, 2nd Place and 3rd Place Awards. Juror: Ian Schmidt. This is a clay-specific show. Other vendors may apply, but will not be eligible for the juried/awards portion of the event. All works must be original creations of the exhibiting artist. Artists under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. All applicants must submit three clear color photographs of their work plus photos of their booth. The HMS Visiting Artists Fellowship (January 2025- November 2025) at Palm Beach State College in Lake Worth Beach, FL will provide an endowment of $6,000 to one selected artist per year and facilitate exhibition and mentoring opportunities. Selected artists responsibilities: 1) a lecture presentation/workshop and solo exhibition at the HMS Fine Art Gallery (Additional funds of $1,000 provided). 2) make themselves available for mentorship opportunities totaling 20-30 hours. 3) must write a year-end fellowship summary of their activities for presentation to the Committee. 4) participate in a group or solo exhibition at the HMS Fine Art Gallery. This October, LibertyTown Arts Workshop in Fredericksburg, VA presents Fiber IV, an exhibition celebrating everything fiber. 1st place: $500, 2nd place: $250, 3rd Place: $125. We want to showcase the full breadth of fiber art, including but not limited to weaving, dying, felting, sculpture, sewing, quilting, knitting, and crocheting. Fiber can be, but is not limited to, cotton, wood, wool, paper, metal, or synthetic materials. Pieces must consist primarily of fiber and be of original design. The method of displaying the work must be obvious or clearly indicated and easily achieved by our staff. Any specialty hangers or forms must be included with the work. All artists age 16 and older, working in fiber based media, may apply. Work must be original and completed within the last five years. 1st piece for non-member: $25; Member: $15.
