What keeps you excited in the studio?
I love being surrounded by the beautiful mess in my studio. I see boxes on the shelves from past exhibits next to new works for new shows. Drawers and containers filled with flea market treasures, vintage dolls and miniature furniture in my two dollhouses. Paints and glue and exacto knives and scissors and photos and wallpaper.

Looking back at your trajectory as an artist, how would you say your work has developed?
My work has expanded over the years: from photography to collage to 3d works to assemblages.

What role do you think the artist has in today’s society?
Be honest, don‘t follow others‘opinions about what you should or shouldn‘t do.

What’s the most important advice you could give to an aspiring artist?
Keep working even when you are not inspired. The inspiration comes while you work.

Does age matter in art? Why or why not?
In my case, age helped me becoming a full time artist. No more kids in the house , knowing who you are and what you want to do. Most importantly, sticking with what is important for you.

What can we look forward to from you next?
I have a major bucket list item coming up in September: Two of my assemblages will be part of a group show at the Jewish Museum in Vienna, Austria.
