What keeps you excited in the studio?
I work independently of the reality of physical space. As soon as I put on my virtual reality glasses, every place at any time becomes a gateway to my virtual studio. This gives me the experience of being present in the moment. For me, being in the studio means connecting in a timeless time and bringing to this world what I have received from a place I do not know.

Looking back at your trajectory as an artist, how would you say your work has developed?
My artistic evolution was marked by my early adoption of new technologies. By integrating PCs, tablets, motion-sensing technologies, virtual reality glasses, and 3D printers into my creative practice, I have added new dimensions to my artistic expression. When I look back now, I see that; Even when these technologies did not exist yet, I was someone who dreamed of their existence and eagerly awaited their arrival. As someone born in the last century, it is truly exciting for me to witness all these inventions coming and evolving over the years. The support that technology gives to new artistic experiences is my biggest source of inspiration.

What role do you think the artist has in today’s society?
The artist is the one who chooses his own experience from among the original and free possibilities and creates new versions of himself throughout the process. Even if this struggle for existence does not change society, it enriches human civilization in extraordinary ways. This contribution is not only a privilege obtained by people who are accepted as artists in society, but also a magic that many people living ordinary lives capture at certain moments of their lives and gift to the whole.

What’s the most important advice you could give to an aspiring artist?
Knowingly and willingly keep your authentic artistic self away from advice.

Does age matter in art? Why or why not?
Every moment is important in art. Art is the mastery of staying in the moment.

What can we look forward to from you next?
I already come from the future.

Is there anything else you would like to share about being an artist later in life?
I am 80 years young and I use my freedom to be 8 years young to the fullest.
