Opportunities for Artists’ Residencies and Fellowships

Whitefish Bay, located on Wisconsin’s Door Peninsula, has long been a creative haven for artists. Inspired by the history of the Dome House and the vibrant artistic community in Door County, this residency (August 4 – September 28, 2025) aims to give one artist the opportunity to create work in a unique environment providing inspiration and solitude. Open to artists working in fine art mediums and residing in the Midwest states of Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, or South Dakota. The program, created and led in partnership with the Miller Art Museum, also provides opportunities for public access to an artist at work through supplemental programming and educational content for the community. $500 stipend. Any visual artist, curator, or writer over 21 years old – based anywhere in the world, regardless of race, gender, culture, or religion – is eligible to apply for The Kyoto Retreat in Kyoto, Japan (October 16 – November 13, 2025). Includes roundtrip airfare, accommodations, and $800 USD stipend to supplement your meals and local transportation. Includes roundtrip airfare, accommodations, and $800 USD ($200 USD per week) stipend. Residency includes the opportunity to participate in a group exhibition in Tokyo. $95.00 USD application fee.
