Donald Trump Promotes Gaza Plan With AI Video

February 26, 2025 - Culture

Donald Trump posted an AI-generated video on his Truth Social platform Tuesday evening that appeared to promote his highly-contested plans to take over and redevelop Gaza.

The video, which Trump shared without a caption, begins with an image of the war-torn area followed by the on-screen caption “Gaza 2025… What’s Next?”

The video then transitions to show a transformed territory full of beaches, skyscrapers, and gold Trump statues, with odd appearances from an AI-generated Elon Musk and Trump sipping on a cocktail at the beach with a topless Benjamin Netanyahu.

A jingle playing in the background carries the lyrics: “Donald’s coming to set you free, bringing the light for all to see, no more tunnels, no more fear: Trump Gaza’s finally here. Trump Gaza’s shining bright, golden future, a brand new life. Feast and dance the deal is done, Trump Gaza number one.”

Donald Trump announced plans to “take over” the Gaza Strip and “own it” earlier this month during a White House press conference alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

“The U.S. will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too,” Trump said at the presser. “We’ll own it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous unexploded bombs and other weapons on the site. Level the site and get rid of the destroyed buildings. Level it out, create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing for the people of the area.”

Wassel Abu Yousuf, a member of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)’s executive committee, told CNN that Trump’s AI video was “a clowning gimmick and nothing more than that.”

“There will not be resorts or Middle East riviera or anything else,” he said. “What Trump wants to do should be done somewhere else, but not on the backs of the Palestinian people. This is the land of our ancestors and parents, and a lot of blood has been shed to defend it.”

It’s unclear what exactly Trump means when he speaks of taking over Gaza, but his loose statement garnered heavy criticism from neighboring Arab nations. Leaders from Egypt, Jordan, Qatar, the UAE, Kuwait and Bahrain met this week in Saudi Arabia led by Mohammed Bin Salman to discuss alternative plans to avoid further displacement of Palestinians.

Responding to the push back, Trump told Fox News last week: “The way to do it is my plan. I think that’s the plan that really works. But I’m not forcing it. I’m just going to sit back and recommend it.”
