It seems like not only 2025 but Kendrick Lamar is going to take over the Grammy Awards 2026 as well, as the rapper has received a total of 9 nominations. The complete list for Grammy Nominations 2026 is already out now, and it shows that fans love Lamar for ‘GNX’ and ‘Luther’ even more than ‘Not Like Us’. Lady Gaga is also making her way through with a total of seven nods, and it shows the love and support of Gaga’s fans. This even breaks the highest record of her Grammy Nominations, as it was 6 till now, which she earned in 2010.

Grammy has always managed to provide exposure to at least one rising artist through its categories, and this time, it is Leon Thomas. But it seems like he has a bigger bonanza as the artist secured a total of 6 nominations, which puts Leon in a competition with pop star Sabrina Carpenter as well as Latin star Bad Bunny and, surprisingly, audio engineer and mixer SerbanGhenea. A lot of people thought that the Grammys would shut down their Latin category, as there are Latin Grammys. But they made sure to give some credit to the Super Bowl halftime showman. A flux of voters can be pulled from the Latin Grammys in this way, and so, Bunny got a total of six nominations and three of them are for the best album, record, and song of the year; the big three. Similarly, there are Lamar, Gaga, and Carpenter, who improve their chances of winning.

The curation for the Grammys is getting worse, and it never seems balanced anymore. While there is one artist getting 6 to 7 nominations, there are other rising artists getting only one nomination. Just like the Grammys have shunned their rock category, a lot of major hits from 2025 are not getting the ample appreciation they deserve. “Golden” from the “Kpop Demon Hunters” franchise has received much love among the fans and received four nods, but Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” could not make it through. Perhaps, it is the time of the release of the music project that makes it opt out from the categories, such as Taylor Swift’s “The Life of a Showgirl” did not find a spot. Since Sabrina could make another album, she got the nomination again. On the other hand, Roan and Eillish could not make it to the album category.

Kendrick Lamar is at the most beneficial spot here with the high popularity of his new album ‘GNX’ and single ‘Luther’. He won a total of 5 awards with ‘Not Like Us,’ and it is time to see how many he can win with the latest non-diss project. Hip-hop is currently the dominating genre in the industry, and other rappers like Tyler, the Creator, Doechii, and Clipse have also managed to get five nominations each. SZA, producers Andrew Watt and Sounwave, and the band Turnstile are also at the same level. The Grammys 2026 will be shown through CBS and Paramount+ on 1st February 2026, and the fans are eagerly waiting for it.
