Mickey Rourke Uses Gay Slur at JoJo Siwa, Big Brother Might Kick Him Out

April 9, 2025 - Movies

Mickey Rourke has been issued a formal warning following an exchange with JoJo Siwa on Celebrity Big Brother UK, in which Rourke used a homophobic slur.

What did Mickey Rourke say on Big Brother?

The moment in question came during the latest episode of the ongoing series, in which Rourke asked Siwa — who came out as part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021 — if she liked boys or girls. Siwa said she liked girls, and noted her partner, Kath Ebbs, is non-binary.

Rourke’s incendiary comments then started, with the actor saying (via Deadline) “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay anymore,” to which Siwa replied “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”

Later on in the episode, Rourke told Chris Hughes that he was “going to vote the lesbian out real quick.” Siwa hears the conversation, and tells Rourke the reasoning is purely homophobic. Rourke then stokes the flames even more, saying “I need a f*g,” gesturing to Siwa before saying “I’m not talking to you.”

Hughes then calls out Rourke for using the word, to which Rourke says he was just referring to a cigarette. However, Siwa can be seen visibly upset, and Rourke is promptly called into the show’s Diary Room. Inside, Rourke is issued a formal warning for his actions, with any further inappropriate language or behavior leading to his expulsion from the series.

When given a chance to speak on the matter, Rourke chalked it up to simply trying to talk smack in the house, and that he didn’t mean anything bad with the remarks.

“I apologize. I don’t have dishonorable intentions – I’m just talking smack you know. I wasn’t taking it all so serious. I didn’t mean it in any bad intentions and if I did, sorry.”

He also apologized to Siwa later in the episode.

“I want to apologize. I’ve got a habit of having a short fuse. And I don’t mean nothing by it. I do mean it [sorry]. If I didn’t, I wouldn’t say it to you.”
