The Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga has done an amazing job expanding the lore of the franchise. As the series has progressed, not only have the heroes grown in strength, demonstrating how powerful a ninja can become, but their enemies have also become mightier. Jura and his Divine Trees are the perfect examples of how dangerous the villains Naruto’s son must deal with have become.
Yet, the series has hinted that these ominous opponents will soon become several times more powerful than any shinobi alive. Ryu is the most recent addition to the Divine Trees, born from the DNA of Shinki, Gaara’s son. The villain revealed that he had access to the Kekkei Genkai from his source, which might imply that another member, Hidari, could utilize Sasuke’s Sharingan, gaining full access to the Uchiha’s arsenal of techniques.
During chapter #15 of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, fans were introduced to Ryu, the Divine Tree born from Gaara’s son, Shinki, being absorbed by a Claw Grime. Like the other members of his race, this stoic character had the unique desire to absorb other ninjas to obtain their knowledge. When asked about his target by Jura, Ryu confessed that he would go after the fifth Kazekage, who is currently trapped inside a sand structure created by Shinki before he was absorbed. The most recent Divine Tree did not seem fazed by these circumstances.
He went on to state that he could simply utilize Shinki’s Magnet Release, ensuring that Gaara would be liberated from his prison and then assimilated. While this fact was mostly glossed over in the chapter, this simple line of dialogue has much deeper implications for the series. Ryu having access to his source’s Kekkei Genkai implies that all other Divine Trees could do the same. Hidari, who was created using Sasuke’s DNA, could awaken the Sharingan at any point during the story.

Boruto TBV chapter 15 makes Amado’s intentions shadier and also answers a big mystery that fans have been questioning about him after the time skip.
The series had already hinted at how necessary this powerful Dojutsu was for Hidari, as he was unable to use most of Sasuke’s Jutsu without it. Ryu’s revelation only adds to the possibility of Hidari obtaining the power of the Uchiha clan, likely in a difficult combat. The God Tree was already defeated by Boruto in chapter #12, so he is not going to keep his guard down during a future encounter. If he finds himself cornered, Hidari might use the powers of Sasuke’s eye to turn things around.
Although Hidari’s Sharingan could become a major issue for the heroes of the Boruto: Two Blue Vortex manga, he is not the only Divine Tree who has a hidden power. Wood Release is considered one of the rarest and most feared Kekkei Genkai in the series, as it was the technique used by the First Hokage, Hashirama. Only a selected few ninjas in history have been able to awaken this skill, even though the Senju clan played a significant role in populating Konoha. And yet, Moegi is one of the few ninjas with this ability.
Seeing as Matsuri was created by using Moegi as a source, it is highly possible that she can also utilize the coveted Wood Release. This might have already been hinted at during chapters #14 and #15, as the main element of the female Divine Tree is earth, which is vital for Hashirama’s technique to work. Matsuri could become a significant threat to the world if she is able to awaken Moegi’s secret technique, drastically increasing her ability to incapacitate her opponents.
Boruto: Two Blue Vortex has differentiated itself from other entries in the franchise thanks to the danger of its main villains. In less than 20 chapters, the series has already introduced villains that could bring about the end of the world without even trying. It is unsettling to imagine how much more powerful the Divine Trees could become by utilizing the Kekkei Genkai contained in their source’s DNA, and the iconic Sharingan may just be the first of this awakened techniques.
