Prime Video‘s record-breaking upcoming movie based on a bestselling novel has been put on the schedule. Prime Video is the subscription streaming service run by Amazon, which features a wide-ranging library of titles that includes many from Amazon MGM Studios, such as Saltburn, The Beekeeper, and Challengers.
There are also a wide variety of original Prime Video movies. Some of their most popular titles include the John Cena movies Ricky Stanicky, Heads of State, and Jackpot!. However, they have also put out movies featuring other major stars such as Orlando Bloom (Deep Cover), Blake Lively (Another Simple Favor), and Jake Gyllenhaal (Road House).
Additionally, they have a robust slate of romance titles that includes The Idea of You, I Want You Back, Red, White, & Royal Blue, and the upcoming franchise movie that has just received a major update.
Culpa nuestra (Our Fault) has gotten an official release date. The Spanish romantic drama is the concluding installment of a movie trilogy adapting the Culpables novels by Mercedes Ron. It follows 2023’s Culpa mía (My Fault) and 2024’s Culpa tuya (Your Fault), in which the burgeoning forbidden romance between new stepsiblings Noah (Nicole Wallace) and Nick (Gabriel Guevara) was introduced.
Culpa nuestra, which follows the couple reuniting years after their breakup for the wedding of their friends Jenna (Eva Ruiz) and Lion (Víctor Varona), has already broken a massive streaming record. When the official teaser trailer premiered in April, it became the most-viewed trailer for an original streaming movie with 163 million views across all platforms during its first week.
The record was previously set by a different Prime Video movie, namely Anne Hathaway and Nicholas Galitzine’s age-gap romance The Idea of You, which earned 125 million views in 2024.
Per Deadline, Culpa nuestra has officially been slated to premiere on Prime Video on October 16. Prime Video has also officially confirmed that original stars Nicole Wallace and Gabriel Guevara will be returning to reprise their roles.
There has not been any release date consistency for the Prime Video romance movie franchise, as Culpa mía premiered in June while Culpa tuya premiered in December. However, this October 16 release date should still serve Culpa nuestra well, even though it doesn’t form a recognizable pattern with the previous installments.
Culpa nuestra debuts during a time when domestic theaters will be in the middle of a dry spell for major romantic dramas, allowing it to stand out as a solid at-home option for lovers of the genre. The most recent romance will have been September 19’s A Big Bold Beautiful Journey, while the nearest upcoming title will be October 24’s Regretting You.
