The majority of musicians never even come close to scoring a legitimate hit. Heavy radio airplay and screen time on MTV (when it still existed) is reserved for just a tiny percentage of aspiring bands. Truth is, most rockers would give their right arm to get a taste of fame and glory, even if it’s fleeting. Getting labeled a one-hit wonder is also far from a death knell. Many acts have enjoyed long and successful careers after scoring their lone hit.

The pop punk craze of the late ’90s and early 2000s delivered an array of bands who scored major radio hits before quickly fading into obscurity. As the sub-genre has enjoyed a recent resurgence, pop punk fans both new and old can’t help but ponder what happened to these acts.
