Brian Eno has unveiled the second track, “We Let It In,” off his forthcoming, previously announced album, FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE. Featuring vocals by his daughter Darla Eno, the song’s accompanying lyric video displays his granddaughter Anya’s handwriting.
The over three-minute ambient track is like a soothing meditation, with Eno’s deep croon over Darla’s spoken-word vocals.
As Eno is bringing in a new sound with the upcoming album, he said in a press release that the new song can hear his “lowered” voice. “It’s become a different personality I can sing from,” Eno says in a statement, “I don’t want to sing like a teenager, it can be melancholy, a bit regretful. As for writing songs again—it’s more landscapes, but this time with humans in them.”
The “We Let It In” video was directed by Eno and London-based artist Orfeo Tagiuri. The climate-change-inspired, upcoming album is out Oct. 14.
