The City of Springfield/Springfield Art Museum in Springfield, MO seeks entries for a juried art exhibition, June 8 – September 1, 2024. Awards: $3,000; $2,000; $1,500; $1,000; Possible Museum Purchase Awards; and more. Juror: Carole Hennessy, President of the Watercolor USA Honor Society. Open to artists, 18 years or older, living in the U.S. or its territories. All artwork must be original, executed after January 1, 2023, and not previously shown at the Museum. Watercolor media must be on watercolor paper substrate and framed using an acrylic covering (No glass unless hand delivered). Artwork must utilize water-soluble paint as the primary medium used in a traditional watercolor-like manner. The Ludington Yacht Club in Ludington, Michigan announces our 3rd Annual Art Show and Sale, Friday July 12 and Saturday July 13, 2024. The Yacht Club is located on a peninsula jutting into Père Marquette Lake. This is a quaint and growing show which has so far featured local artists, and is expanding. The City Council and Mayor’s office of Vincennes, Indiana are announcing a national call for artist submissions for an eclipse themed mural on the side of City Hall. Vincennes and Knox County are in the centerline of totality during the total solar eclipse on April 8, 2024. We will experience 4 minutes and 5 seconds of darkness and anticipate 50,000-100,000 eclipse visitors for that weekend. To commemorate this spectacular event and encourage future eclipse tourism, the City is asking for public works to be submitted. $2,500.00 commission. The mural will be printed and installed by a local printing company and will hang for approximately 1-2 year(s). All works must be original and not shown in the last two years. No application fee. The Pentwater Arts Council in the Village of Pentwater, Michigan is conducting an open entry competition to select 5 outdoor sculptures for the Pentwater Sculpture Walk, June 1, 2024 – May 31, 2025.
