What keeps you excited in the studio?
Exploring new ideas, new materials, new techniques.

Looking back at your trajectory as an artist, how would you say your work has developed?
As I grow as as artist my work has also grown by not only addressing things I am trying to process in my life, but I realize it also speaks to a larger audience and what they are seeking from art.

What role do you think the artist has in today’s society?
The artist should help people feel more comfortable in their skin and give them a portal to make sense of the crazy big wide world out side of their own comfort zone.

What’s the most important advice you could give to an aspiring artist?
Just keep Exploring whatever is inside you that needs to come out. Someone out there will connect with it and that the point, to connect with each other.

Does age matter in art? Why or why not?
Not really, everyone has something to express, so long as there is passion, focus and desire in their person of any age, the strength of the art will be revealed.

What can we look forward to from you next?
I’m working on a series that explores the abstracted sensual figure engaged in both singular and communal space making.

Is there anything else you would like to share about being an artist later in life?
I plan to “retire” from my corporate job next year, to dedicate myself to being a full time artist. But I don’t see it as retirement , I see it as entering a stage in my life where I truly know what I want to be “when I grow up” . I can’t wait!
