There will be no fourth season for HGTV‘s Farmhouse Fixer. Host Jonathan Knight revealed the news Thursday on Instagram that the renovation show has been canceled.
“A lot of you have been asking about the future of Farmhouse Fixer. I am sad to say HGTV has decided not to move forward with another season. While I’m still processing the reasons that led to their decision, Kristina and I are so grateful for all your support over the past 3 seasons. Television has been so incredibly fun for us. We are so proud of what we created together and look forward to sharing what’s next for us.”
The most recent third season wrapped just over a year ago on HGTV.
In the series, Knight and designer Kristina Crestin restored historic New England farmhouses, preserving the charm and character of the old homes while updating them for modern living.
“Restoring the American farmhouse is not just a hobby for me — it’s my passion, my obsession and I’ve been doing it for more than 25 years,” Knight said in a previous statement. “It’s so easy to just go knock down an old house. It’s way harder to renovate them so that families can enjoy them for years to come. That’s the reason this work is so worth it.”
He added: “To me, being on a farm is a way of life. It’s the real deal. Old farmhouses are disappearing off the landscape, but these are American treasures that should be saved.”
Farmhouse Fixer is the latest of several HGTV series that will not renewed for additional seasons. Earlier this month, Earlier this month, the hosts of Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block and Izzy Does It announced their shows would not be returning.
Farmhouse Fixer was produced by ITV America’s High Noon Entertainment (Good Bones, Home Again with the Fords, Fixer Upper).
