The Amazon Prime Video series’ synopsis reads:

“British couple Liv and Will seem to have it all: a rock-solid marriage; a glamorous new life in New York thousands of miles from their provincial hometown; and still young enough to feel that their whole lives are ahead of them. Until Liv learns about Will’s affair.

Heartbreak is swiftly followed by another emotion: fury. Revenge is her only option, and when Will proposes a trip around America’s epic National Parks to give their relationship a fresh start, Liv knows just how to get it… Wilderness is a twisted love story, where a dream holiday and a supposedly ‘happily-ever-after’ quickly turns into a living nightmare.”

The seemingly perfect marriage may very well end with murder in the upcoming Amazon Prime Video series Wilderness. The new trailer shows audiences that Liv (Coleman) has simply been pushed too far, and she means to exact revenge on her lying, cheating husband, Will (Jackson-Cohen). Writer Marnie Dickens was tasked with adapting B.E. Jones’ novel for the show. Dickens said in a press release:

“Wilderness is pure, unadulterated fun, where our heroine Liv says the things you wish you had the guts to, does the things you can only fantasise about, and lives by her own increasingly outrageous set of rules. I’m thrilled to bring the Prime Video audience along for her ride.”

Executive producer Elizabeth Kilgarriff added:

“We’re so excited to be bringing Marnie’s gripping and provocative scripts to life with the fantastic team at Amazon. Taking B.E. Jones’ brilliant story and super-charging it for the screen, Wilderness asks just how far you would go to get revenge on the person who ripped out your heart.”

The novel explores the hurt Liv suffers when she’s betrayed by the man she thinks truly loves her. And the hook for the film is one of the most effective a book lover will ever come across, as the very first line of the thriller reads: “No one died until six months after I saw the home video.”

What will surely translate over into the series are the trials Liv puts Will through to prove he’s truly sorry for what he’s done. Otherwise, as the book reveals, “It’s dangerous out there in the wilderness; accidents happen all the time.”

Stream Wilderness on Amazon Prime Video starting on September 15. And, alongside this latest trailer, check out the show’s first teaser featuring Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do.
