January 25, 2026 - Music

Charli XCX is singing Kylie Jenner’s praises after collaborating on The Moment movie.

“I feel like we feel so lucky to really work with such an incredible cast and, you know, I know everybody says this when they make a film but we did really bond in quite a mental way,” Charli, 33, told Deadline in an Instagram video shared on Saturday, January 24, adding that they “went out every weekend. It was sort of like a constant hangover, but in a really nice way.”

She continued, “The sort of people who are playing themselves, as you mentioned Kylie, she was just phenomenal. She totally got the assignment. She is a really great actress. Rachel [Sennott] as well, who is playing herself, also incredible. There’s a little Julia Fox cameo moment in there too … Bringing all of these amazing people into the world was just so fabulous.”

The film, which follows a pop star preparing to launch her first headline tour, was produced by Charli and cowritten by Aidan Zamiri and Bertie Brandes. Aside from Jenner, 28, Fox, 35, and Sennott, 30, The Moment also stars Alexander Skarsgård, Rosanna Arquette, Isaac Cole Powell, Kate Berlin, Rish Shah, Jamie Demetriou, Trew Mullen, Arielle Dombasle and Hailey Benton Gates.

Timothée Chalamet is looking forward to girlfriend Kylie Jenner’s upcoming movie The Moment. “I want everything to be great and A24 is an independent finance company. They got a great movie coming out called The Moment,” Chalamet, 30, said in an interview with Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos shared via social media on Tuesday, December […]

“A rising pop star navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut,” reads the logline.

In the trailer, Jenner is seen giving Charli advice as she makes her acting debut. “The second people are getting sick of you,” Jenner said in the December 2025 trailer. “That’s when you have to go even harder.”

Ahead of The Moment’s release, Charli teased that the film was “based on an idea” she had.

“I suppose it’s [a] revisionist history of Brat,” she said on Gwyneth Paltrow’s “Goop” podcast in November 2025, referring to her award-winning album released one year prior.

She continued, “We like to call it a 2024 period piece, and it’s sort of about the death of cool [and] when something cool becomes commercial and then you lose control over actually what it is, and how it’s brought into the culture.”

Timothée Chalamet gave girlfriend Kylie Jenner a sweet shout-out in his acceptance speech for Best Actor at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards. “Thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” Chalamet, 30, said […]

Charli, who tied the knot with The 1975’s George Daniel in 2025, is set to play a version of herself in the film.

“I wouldn’t quite call it a mockumentary, but it’s something in the world,” she explained. “It’s sort of like a music industry satire. I had so much fun. There’s also some really emotional and sad moments within it, and I think it’s about losing control over something that you worked so hard to attain.”

Charli explained that she’s “really interested in marketing” and “how people communicate product.”

“I find it fascinating … how art combines with capitalism because it does. I find all of the combinations of those things really interesting,” she said. “It’s funny because as a voyeur, I’m quite fascinated but when it’s your own work, that’s really personal, it does feel quite scary to see [brands] do their version.”

The Moment hits theaters on Friday, January 30.
