Joe Flacco found his forever cheerleader in his wife and longtime love, Dana Flacco.
Joe and Dana have been a couple since they first met as high school students in their hometown of Audubon, New Jersey. Joe was selected by the Baltimore Ravens as the No. 18 overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft, which meant he needed to move his family from New Jersey to Baltimore to begin his football career. During his career, he has played for the Baltimore Ravens, Denver Broncos and New York Jets, which has resulted in moves with his family from Baltimore to Denver to New York.
In October 2025, Joe was traded to the Cincinnati Bengals and quickly became the team’s starting quarterback after star Joe Burrow suffered a Grade 3 turf toe injury. (The Cleveland Clinic notes that a Grade 3 turf toe injury means the soft tissue in the toe is completely torn, and the injury is very common for football players.)
As the 18-year veteran adapted to a new offense, he had his wife, Dana, by his side.
In fact, while speaking to reporters October 10, Joe revealed that Dana even helped him run plays. As he put it, “She didn’t do bad!”

The pair’s love story dates all the way back to when they met as high school students in New Jersey. They continued to date throughout college.
The Flaccos tied the knot on June 25, 2011, and even took some of their wedding photos in the same high school they attended together as teens. Photos published by the New York Post show the then Ravens quarterback and his groomsmen pretending to run a play while Dana poses in the middle.
The pair also took photos at a movie theater that was important to the couple, and even stopped traffic to get a few pictures in front of City Hall.
In addition to Joe’s NFL career, the duo also share five children: sons Stephen, Daniel, Francis and Thomas, as well as daughter Evelyn.
In December 2023, Joe opened up about what it’s meant to be able to include his entire family in his football career. (At the time, Joe had led the Cleveland Browns to the Wildcard round of the NFL playoffs.)
“I can’t say it enough, to have children that are of the age where they understand what’s going on means I’m going to remember these things forever,” he said.
During a press conference on October 10, 2025, Joe revealed that Dana helped him learn the Bengals’ playbook, adding yet another new dynamic in their relationship.
“I’ve never had my wife read stuff out to me, but the other night, sitting in the hotel, I did have her read some of the base game plan to me, and have me repeat it back to her,” he explained at the time. “She didn’t do bad!”
