Local Natives gives us a vast, loud, and full track with “Desert Snow.”
Most strangely, I want to say this track sounds royal — it’s embellished, powerful, regal and perfectly indie rock all at the same time. A vast and loud chorus gives the feeling of distance, adventure, and romance; while deep and weighted instrumentation gives it fullness and opulence.
The driving guitar bridge that comes in later is an addictive sound-byte that not only gives the track another boost of life but creates whirls and twirls that give super alt-rock energy.
The “Desert Snow” truly is a magnificent sight to listen to.
