Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Hyattsville, MD offers a 3-month paper arts residency, May 15 – August 17, 2024. Each applicant will be judged on the artistic merit of his/her work and interest and potential in paper arts. Artists whose work includes papermaking, paper sculpture, paper marbling, book arts, and printmaking (or a combination thereof) are encouraged to apply. Saranac Lake ArtWorks invites Plein air artists, 18 and older, to apply for the 16th Adirondack Plein Air Festival. Applicants are asked to submit 3 images of their plein air paintings. Forty painters will be selected for participation in the 6-day event, held in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of northern New York, source of inspiration for the Hudson River School artists of the 19th century. There’s a “Meet the Artists” reception, a Nocturne Contest, the “Paint the Town” Silent Auction, a Quickdraw Competition, and a huge Show & Sale that opens with the Special Preview Party Reception & Awards on Friday night Aug 16. The New England Sculptors Association seeks outdoor sculpture for Burlington Sculpture Park in Burlington, MA. $2,250 stipend for a two-year loan. Sculptures should be suitable for long-term, outdoor exposure, fabricated and installed in a viewer-safe manner. Works should not exceed 12 feet in height. Sculptures should be installed in a manner that is sensitive to the natural environment. Sculptures that need maintenance during the exhibition may be excluded. The Town of Burlington will assist in installation, including concrete pads, if needed. Politicized works will not be welcome. Each year professional or aspiring artists are selected to spend time at Lacawac Sanctuary in Lake Ariel, PA for one week. Artists are free to produce their artwork using the inspiration of the beauty that is Lacawac – 550-acres which includes a glacial lake, 2 ponds, shore access to Lake Wallenpaupack, ledges natural area, and forests. Housing and studio space is provided. There are no hard deadlines for applications. Artists provide their own transportation and take care of their meals. The Rehoboth Art League announces a call to artists for 2025 Solo and Group Exhibition Proposals. Open to members and non-members. This is a very competitive program as RAL can only accept a limited number of proposals each year. Artworks in any media will be reviewed. The RAL is situated in the town of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, a highly traveled area not only by the residents of this and the expanding surrounding communities, but also by art patrons from the Washington DC, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and New York metropolitan areas. Over 29,000 people participate in Rehoboth Art League programs annually. Special exhibitions have played an important part of our programming since the league’s beginning, in1938. Upstream Gallery in Hastings on Hudson, NY is currently welcoming membership applications from area artists. Submissions are reviewed each month. New members are voted into the gallery by a majority vote of the existing membership after an evaluation of work examined via the applicant’s website and actual examples of art submitted for review. Member artists are expected to participate in the operation of the gallery, which includes working at the gallery one or two days a month, installing, or taking down shows, helping with our newsletter or numerous other tasks and responsibilities.
