EXCLUSIVE: Joanne Froggatt, the Golden Globe-winning actress who shot to fame in Downton Abbey, is closing her production company, Insight Pictures.
Froggatt founded Insight in 2020 and two years later signed an exclusive first-look deal with MGM International Television Productions. Under the pact, she set up Love to Tell the Tale, a comedy TV series about a single woman’s quest for motherhood.
In a statement, Froggatt said: “Winding up Insight Pictures was a considered personal decision as I shift my focus toward my family and my acting work. Leading the company was a valuable and rewarding experience, and I am grateful for all that it taught me.”
Froggatt is winding up the company voluntarily, with Opus Restructuring appointed as liquidator. Insight had capital and reserves of £413,284 ($550,000) last year, per a filing at the UK’s Companies House.
Froggatt is a series regular in MobLand, a breakout Paramount+ drama co-starring Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. Production on Season 2 is currently underway in the UK. Froggatt’s other credits include Liar and Angela Black.
Froggatt is represented by Conway Van Gelder Grant and Principal Entertainment LA.
