Chet Faker gives us a signature surprise track with “It Could Be Nice” — a track that slows everything down for a talk and an ultimatum.
Chet Faker has always had two energies – “Welcome to the party” and “Hey, why don’t we go to my place.” “It Could Be Nice” falls beautifully and sensually in the latter, giving us classic Chet Faker charisma layered under soft violins, warped synths, and a wailing vocal performance.
The track has this third-perspective feeling to it, like Chet isn’t singing about themselves, but rather narrating about you, the listener. Sure, it seems a bit out there or possibly untrue, but there is no denying the otherwordly beauty and gripping effect it has.
