The Librarians: The Next Chapter is bringing back an original cast member. Running from 2014 to 2018 on TNT, and based on the novels of the same name by David Titcher, the original Librarians was developed for TV by John Rogers. The story centered on the titular group, an ancient organization dedicated to protecting the world from a secret reality hidden from view. In May 2023, it was announced that The CW would be developing a spinoff based on The Librarians.
Deadline now confirms that Christian Kane is set to reprise the role of Jacob Stone in The Librarians: The Next Chapter. Kane, known for his roles on Leverage and Angel as a reoccurring villain, will be part of the upcoming fantasy adventure show in a recurring capacity. In the original, Kane was a main cast member and appeared in all four seasons.

The Librarians: The Next Chapter has cast Air actor Jessica Green as Charlie Cornwall, the Guardian. Already rejected by the Library to serve as a Guardian, Charlie was at a low point in her life when she got the chance to serve as a special guardian on a trial basis. Charlie is trained in the military and, if she can keep the powers that be in line, then she might make that trial status more permanent.
In the spinoff, having been in the job for over a decade, Christian Kane’s Jacob has the job of mentoring Charlie.
